Outfit #7- Military-inspired pants, Oversized jackets, and Combat boots
Mercy Wheel Surplus Pant- Free People
I was so skeptical when I first saw these pants online. But obviously I bought them anyways because I'm impulsive AF. I had been looking for a pair of loose, high-waisted pants that were more casual. Most of the high-waisted pants that I buy are dressy. And boy was I blown away by these bad boys. They are easy-fit; not tight but not loose and perfect for casual wear. They have snaps where the zipper would go and a cloth tie under the waistband that folds over. Like, OH MY CASUAL CHIC. The fold over is the best part of the pant. It also seems like you can unfold it and wear it as an even higher-waisted pant with a belt. The zipper accents on the ankle are an edgy touch. You can also pair these pants with sneakers or even a heel if your feeling frisky. These pants come in green as well which I want terribly. My fashion advice for this week is: once you find a pant you love, buy a second pair.
Through the Rain Jacket- Lulus
This taupe jacket is lightweight and long. I love the way it looked with my tight crop top and pants because it gave the outfit a bit of freedom. I think it looks best when its open and flowy but its cute zipped with the asymmetrical front too. It's definitely a jacket you wear to feel relaxed. I also love the look the model is wearing on the website with a loose black dress and high boots under it.
Combat Boots- Lord and Taylor- French Connection
I got these during the Black Friday sale. I was suppose to be Christmas shopping for other people but it turned into a selfish day very quickly. If I was going to push and shove my way through the mall sweating and darting around sales people, I better get something out of it. I hadn't been able to find a pair of combat-like boots that I really loved because I always think they look clunky on me. These boots still give that military-ish feel but are thinner and more fitted. I also loved the different textures on the boot and the lace up and side zippers are simple which makes them easy to put on and take off. They also look great with a T-shirt dress and jean jacket.
