The Spinach Contest: NWSL vs. NWHL
We've been working out with the hockey girls at IPF now for several weeks. These girls are members of the US Women's National Team and they also play in the NWHL for the Boston Pride and Connecticut Whale. We've learned a few things about them:
1- They're just as psychotic as we are when it comes to competition.
2- They're absolute freaks at core, jumps, balance, explosiveness, and chin-ups.
3- They're really fun and cool.
So naturally, we came up with a way to highlight all of their best qualities with a little competition. Tomorrow after our workout, we're challenging the hockey girls to a spinach eating competition. Everyone competing will get their own bag of spinach that we are going to pick up at Stop and Shop on our way to IPF. The rules are simple: eat all of the spinach in the bag as fast as you can. The first one to eat all of it wins.
Now, things might get a little hairy. We know this. We guarantee that someone will claim someone else has cheated. We also guarantee that someone will physically attack someone else during the shoveling. We've prepared for these things and we have precautions in place to protect ourselves.
In the name of Sporting Chic, we have come up with this competition and challenged the most worthy opponents that we could find. Stay tuned on social media tomorrow for the challenge and most importantly, the results.
Predictons: Kacey Bellamy and Kristie are likely going to recede into the darkest corners of their minds to tough this one out for a close race. Don't count me out though- I eat plain spinach all the time as punishment when I've had a really bad week of junk food. I might have a leg up.
In other news, the Boston Pride have a game this Saturday at the Warrior Ice Arena at 7:30pm. Kristie and I will be there with signs, Dunkin Donuts coffees, and inside scoops on the players. Let us know if you plan on coming out and maybe we'll bring a couple of #giveaway items. Hint hint. Tickets are available here: https://nwhl.thundertix.com/orders/new?performance_id=1663059
